About
We are the US Chapter of the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA USA Chapter). Supported by dedicated staff and volunteer leaders, the SCA USA Chapter represents the US-based members of the SCA who constitute close to 40% of the association’s global membership. Chapter, staff and volunteers work together to organize the US Coffee Championships and other educational events that bring the US coffee community together.
The SCA USA Chapter is one of many SCA Chapters around the world. National Chapters support their local coffee communities and represent the SCA’s vision, mission, and purpose while connecting coffee people with each other to deepen regional coffee communities and broaden the global network of coffee professionals.
While SCA, the global trade organization, seeks to #MakeCoffeeBetter, the USA Chapter of the SCA works to #MakeCoffeePeopleBetter. We do this by engaging a volunteer network with deep roots in the US coffee communities to enrich access to knowledge, training, leadership opportunities, and fellowship to provide a fertile foundation for us all to thrive. Our primary activities involve advocating for and helping the US coffee communities by supporting local and regional events and education that provide value to both members and non-members of SCA.
The Chapter will be the home to the US Coffee Competitions Committees, give voice to the local coffee communities across the United States, and will continue to organize and expand community events across the country.
Our Mission
Our mission is to amplify the voice of the US Coffee Community and advocate for the coffee community in service of regeneration, responsibility, equality, and the betterment of individuals in coffee.
We are diverse and committed to being inclusive. We remove barriers to participation, advocate for innovative content, and improve approachability, accessibility, and connection to resources.
Our Chapter advocates for and helps the US Specialty Coffee Community create awareness of, communicate about, and support local and regional events and education that provide value to both members and non-members.

Are you based out of the United States and working/interested in coffee? If so, you’re welcome to participate with the US Chapter. We welcome you! All US-based members of the SCA – including individual and company members – are automatically included in chapter announcements from the US Chapter.
Not yet a member? We still invite you to participate in the chapter! You’ll just have to opt-in to those communications yourself.
